That's so funny. We were hosting a visit from three women from our partner in non-profit do-gooderdom in Chicago. First time I'd ever met them. All very nice. All very pretty. It was like we were taking the managers of the Wicker Park Gap outlet to lunch.

DC gets a pretty bad rap on this regard. I, personally, do nothing to help. But the guilty parties are, I'm afraid, Combover Nation over on Capitol Hill. Mary Landrieu can ONLY DO SO MUCH, PEOPLE!

Chicago has a serious "city vs. burbs" thing going on. City folks are hot - lots of walking/running/gym opportunities. The people in the burbs, though, are NOT attractive. Probably because they spend most of their time in cars.
