pluses and minues

more perks (and their negatives) of working here:
perk: every single item of food i've ingested today has been provided to me for free (fried chicken biscuit and pastry for breakfast; seafood salad for a fellows' lunch [canceled due to all the breaking news, but we still got the food]); cookies, fruit and soda (.com provides free food during breaking news situations). for dinner i might end up making another sad tortilla-and-cheese-sandwich (i'll call it that forever now) but the rest of the dining has been good.
minus: my ass is growing at an unprecedented rate
perk: you get to attend question-and-answer sessions that are amazingly informative and amazingly depressing with the cnn bureau chief in baghdad.
minus: the cnn bureau chief in baghdad is intelligent, charming, and TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS OLD. you realize you are a fabulously incompetent buffoon. why aren't you running a bureau by now? your existence is clearly useless.
(though there is the perk of not, you know, living in baghdad.)

Big news = free food. It's how it works in the biz.
And forget bureau chief, he used to be our intern.
ooops.
wrong intern.
Plus: You get to work with the loveliest people.
Minus: They leave the silliest comments on your blog.
Not sure if this is a plus or a minus: That 28-year-old danger-zone phenom is actually kinda cute, too. Totally, ridiculously unfair.
