not so bright

i did the unthinkable today: i left something on top off my car and drove off with it still there. not that it's so unthinkable, i just thought stuff like that really only happened in the movies. it was especially sad because it was a delicious chicken sandwich i had bought after a four-mile run, and it was important because i have no food in the house except cheese and tortillas, and thus i was forced to make myself a cheese and tortilla sandwich for dinner tonight. it was delish. really. also, i'm lying.

anyway, as i was driving off, i must have been distracted by the TERRIFYING HORDES of mariah carey fans surrounding the philips arena, which is adjacent to the cnn center and where that unstoppable force of hair extensions, thighs and sparkles is apparently having a concert tonight. surprisingly, many of the female concert attendees seemed to be accompanied by their boyfriends. true love is going to a mariah carey concert with your special lady friend. also, many of the female concert attendees - in fact, most of them - were wearing astoundingly short miniskirts with astoundingly high heels. ladies. i am all for miniskirts, and i am all for heels, but when you wear them together, you know you can only look like a ho.

I've done that with at least half a dozen coffee cups, and once with the gas cap. Turns out that those things are surprisingly expensive to replace. For a while after losing the cap, I became very paranoid about repeating the mistake, and would not infrequently pull over to the side of the highway a few minutes after filling up the tank when doubt as to the cap's properly secured nature began to inevitably build.

my mom's done it with a stuffed and mounted eagle. Wingspan fully outstretched. on top of her car. on route 7.

My mom solves the gas cap problem by putting it on the seat while filling up. That way she doesn't forget it. I have a truck, so I just toss it in the bed; that way even if I forget it it's right there.

When my mom and I were on my college tour we once forgot to put the oil cap back on after checking the oil and proceeded to drive several hundred miles. When we checked it again it was bone dry and there was oil splattered everywhere under the hood. The cap was right there, too.

Your life is sad. You don't even know what a quesadilla is.

I did that with my purse once at the mall. Oops. Yet would you believe that the person who found it stuck it in a mailbox and it got mailed to my house? I was shocked.

Oh and the thought of those Mariah fans scares the dickens outta me.
