thoughts about veronica mars

posted by catherine / May 01, 2006 /

i just realized there are only two episodes left in the entire season. it is certainly not a sure thing the CW will pick up VM for next year. and if they don't, we will NEVER GET TO SEE LOGAN AND VERONICA HAVE SEX. so people. you need to watch tomorrow. some random ass predictions behind the cut. vaguely spoilery!

  • the trial. frankly, i wouldn't be surprised if aaron gets off scott free on all charges, including the ones involving trying to fry veronica alive in a fridge. but the show's not without a sense of justice, obviously - if he does go free, something bad will happen to him, i predict. like, DEATH. wouldn't it be awesome if jake kane came back and made good on his promise to kill aaron? even better: duncan does it, is sent to jail forever, and we are assured of never having to see donut again!

  • at this point i've pretty much suggested everyone from jackie to veronica's longlost alcoholic mother as the bus crash perp. i've also heard some a couple vaguely possible theories involving lamb, though in my heart of hearts i refuse to believe them, because he's such a great character and i like to think he has a speck of moral decency as evidenced in the manning closet abuse situation. you gotta think there's something to be revealed about lamb and madison, though. i mean, how did THAT even HAPPEN?

  • okay. after viewing this aol preview (different from the one on the official site), i'm calling it: jackie is totally a goner. everything's going too well for wallace; they just had sex and the sluts always die; and now she's saying she might not go to paris. buh bye.

  • also after that clip, i still think there is something seriously off about gia.

  • can i just say, i am so proud of not having spoiled myself ONCE this season! all throughout BTVS i was the biggest spoiler whore. but not this show, not this time around. so, if anyone ruins it for me, you are most certainly dead.

I was saying the same thing to a friend of mine who writes for TWOP: I never read the spoiler threads, or even want a hint of spoilage for VM even though I could not get enough dirty, dirty speculation for Buffy. Maybe it's because early VM is better than late BtVS?

that's a good point. late buffy was a little bit sucky and i didn't mind being spoiled so much...also, the fact is that buffy, though it had its secrets and urevealed plot points, wasn't as much a pure mystery as VM. i feel like if i were to get spoiled on the season's central mystery, there was barely a reason to watch in the first place.

i also wanted to add that the more i think about it, the creepier i find gia. she says all this stuff about her father telling her not to get on the bus, about seeing that car with the mooners, about her father calling off the security team, but has any of it actually been corroborated by anyone else? i think not.

I think you're all nutters, I wanted Buffy spoilers as far away from me as humanly possible. But that's just me, apparently. I can't wait for tonight, it's slightly pathetic.

If we don't get a Logan/Veronica sex scene, my head may explode. I'm still all flustered about the lack of resolution on My So Called Life. I hold TV grudges. The CW's got to pick up VM, don't you think? I mean... come on...

Catherine, I trust we'll be IMing around 10?

Good point. With Buffy, we generally knew who the bad guy was by mid-season.

I can't get that preview link to work, but yeah, I'm creeped out / confused by Gia. Can she really be so stupid as to not put two and two together when her father told her not to get on the bus? And are we to believe that Liam Fitzpatrick mooned her?

And the Mannings and Lucky? And Aaron's cellmate? And Beaver's business? And Curly? And Cook? So many loose ends, and not many episodes left.

amanda, indeed we will! and i will literally be heartbroken if the CW doesn't pick up VM. the worst part would be this season would already be over and done with - if you have advance warning of being canceled, you can give some resolution, but we wouldn't get ANY here. and then i would cry.

I would be right along with you, boosting tissue sales with my many tears, and penning many indignant letters to The CW.

Oh, and as for Gia, there's definitely something very odd about her, but I'm not quite sold on her as the crasher. Unless she's completely psychotic. That was her first day at Neptuneha High, so there would have to be some seriious back peddling to explain her intentions. We shall see!

I like the idea of Gia! Maybe she was trying to frame someone? OMG I am just so excited. The most frustrating thing is that I don't have TiVo, so I have to bittorrent, which means I don't actually get to watch it till Thursday. And I'm with you all on the spoilers, I remember poring over final-season Buffy spoilers but I'd never want to see Vmars ones. Although I was looking at them mostly because I had NO IDEA WHAT WAS GOING ON. I was all "wait, WHO is that voice? it can take the form of live people? dead people? huhhhh?" so, not spoilers so much as fill-in-the-plots. Man that seasons bit.

Ok, so I am going to cave and buy the first season on dvd because I've heard such good things about this show.

oh, michelle, yay! if i were wealthy, i would buy everyone i knew the first season dvd. i don't doubt you'll find it a worthy investment.
