ok. i've got me some veronica mars theories. and, just for the record, that was a FABULOUS EPISODE. season one worthy. this season's not been quite as great, but these past few episodes and the momentum going towards the end have perked me up very happily.
well, just one theory, actually. it has to do with the mayor and beaver. i'm really, really confused about what beaver is doing with his real estate plan involving kendall. it's all above my head. the incorporation of neptune that the mayor wants to do is beyond me as well. however, i think the two are related. and i think that stalker video in this episode may have been shot by beaver. is it possible he's gay and he and the mayor had a relationship, and the mayor broke it up, and beaver's real estate plan is somehow aimed to exact major revenge? i think it was quite clearly insinuated that the mayor could potentially be gay in his weight-lifting scene with logan, and beaver's disinclination to hook up with mac seems to be another clue.
or it could all be a red herring. either way, i still dunno who crashed the bus. curly knows, though.
and adios, thumper. i was surprised to find out that he actually did kill felix.
other notes: the writers at VM are the dirtiest and tricksiest people on TV ever. the shocker and dirty sanchez slipped past the censors in one episode? well played.
sigh. i do love this show.

upon further thought, i wouldn't be surprised if the mayor's wife has some role to play in all of this...even though she was only in that one episode and didn't actually have, you know, a speaking line, she was obviously very freaky and controlling.
another thought: a few episodes back, the one about the gay pirate message board, someone there said he had the "outing of all outings" but then he was on the bus and it was never revealed. could woody or his wife have orchestrated that? at the same time, for my talk of the wife, i have a hard time she can be involved in any serious way, because we don't know her at all. at least last season we were involved to some extent with aaron echols.
YES! Last night was the best offering in quite a while. I watched it two times in a row instead of watching Lost. You've hatched a great theory here -- I've been suspicious of the mayor for a while, but wasn't sure of the angle. Outing him is a great explanation. I'm still very confused about the Beaver real estate thing too. Rob Thomas recently said that next season's big mystery has already been revealed to us. I was kind of thinking that might be it, but it could definitely still be wrapped up in this year's plot.
And, The Perishers are always popping up as the soundtrack for slow dance scenes on TV that make m swoon.
Also, I know that Logan didn't know he was going to be lifting or anything, but for some reason his nasty argyle sweater in the weight room was really funny to me.
i watched it twice two! glad i'm not alone in my dorkiness. i think the big mystery of next season will have something to do with the rapes at hearst.
and upon further thought, i'm not so sure beaver is gay anymore...he may just be totally and weirdly sexually scarred by dick, and by the whole thing where dick tried to make him rape veronica last season. but i'm still thinking his real estate stuff will have something to do with neptune's incorporation. and what about kendall/aaron echolls? could KENDALL have had something to do with this all? gah. this is the part of the VM season where i love/hate it because i'm just dying to find out what happens.
and i know VM will tell me. unlike certain shows. ahem.
i also haven't counted out dick in all of this. he seems dumb, but evil.
If this week's 24 taught us anything, it's not to count out the apparently dumb ones and their hand in the uber-evil. I'm not sold on Beaver being gay, but Kendall and/or Dick could certainly have a hand in everything. It was Dick, afterall, who got the limo ride home from the bus.
maybe beaver isn't gay...more thinking about that seems like too obvious to me. what about having been molested, maybe by the mayor?
Beaver's real estate business is being designed to fail, no? At first I thought it was just a way to get back at Kendall (her name is on everything, they were sure to emphasize a few times), but perhaps the real plan is to take down some investors and remain afloat himself, because the business is all hers. They also explicitly said that properties outside the incorporation area will lose all their value rapidly, and Beaver's ears perked up at that...
in that episode, i couldn't tell if his ears perked up or if he looked freaked out. maybe his plan is to buy up all the properties outside the incorp. area as they become cheap with impending news of the incorporation, then blackmail woody into abandoning the scheme so the prices will rise back up and he'll make a crapload of money? i still have no idea what part kendall plays, or why they approached aaron echolls with the real estate stuff. or if aaron is trying to frame duncan or what.
