I only caught the last 60 seconds of it or so, but Jon Stewart just cordially demolished John McCain over the issue of his association with Jerry Falwell. Ouch. McCain did a decent job parrying, but was obviously stunned and trapped. I couldn't help but feel sorry for the guy.

I saw the whole thing and it was awesome. Don't feel too bad for him; he definitely knew it was coming and tried to deflect it early on with jokes (pretty good ones, actually). It's stuff like this that reminds me why I still watch the Daily Show.
I just caught the 1am segment. Citizen McCain definitely seemed to be caught off-guard. Given the Daily Show's setup {multi-clip video segment, documenting McCain's apparent hypocrisy}, I wonder if Jon Stewart just ambushed McCain.
