pacific northwest!

I'm safe and sound and in Seattle for the N-TEN conference. Trenchant observations about the city follow:

  • It's rainy

  • The coffee is good

  • The space needle seems, from a distance, pretty much like you'd expect

  • The SEATAC parking lot reminds me a LOT of the buildings in the movie Aliens. Perhaps that's just because it seems like dropping a nuke on it might be a good idea.

I know, I know: I'm totally turning your Seattle preconceptions upside down. More to come! Possibly! But first: a shower and free booze.

I happened to come across your Michael Chiarello post. Ver funny. Have you checked napastylewineclub.com
It's new and very good. By the way, I live in Sausalito CA and know Michael. I am going to ask him about his post and get back to you. He just had a baby boy a couple of weeks ago who I am visiting his week-end.

Go to the Sit n' Spin, drink Fat Tire Ale, and go to the Experience Music Project. Just my two cents.

ghost - sorry, but what kind of advice is this for tom? sit & spin closed (and i can say, years ago), fat tire - um, colorado? seattle is in washington and has plenty of good local beers - pike, red hook.

tom, have a burger at red mill - if ya like burgers - my two cents. best espresso in town, and maybe the country, is vivace on broadway - seriously! embrace the overcastness while you are there... have a nice conference.

I'd only been to Seattle once, years ago. I liked the Sit 'n Spin. And while Fat Tire is Coloradan (?), it's so tasty and unavailable on the east coast.

Well, Coloradoan or not, they had Fat Tire on tap at the hotel bar. Definitely tasty. Didn't make it to the Sit n' Spin though, I'm afraid.
