the scientific marriage

posted by catherine / February 07, 2006 /

jeff's uncle made the AP wire, simply by getting married! how is that possible, you ask? because he is none other than the illustrious bill nye, the science guy. naturally:

Cellist Yo Yo Ma, accompanied by MIT Media Lab Professor Michael Hawley on the piano, performed a wedding march.

congratulations to the happy couple!

Wow, music by Yo Yo Ma? And they were married by Rick Warren! Being a Science Guy has its advantages.

I need to get the details about this supposed "conference". It seems like such a bizarre mash-up of personalities that it couldn't exist outside of a tv commercial or Roger Rabbit's Toontown.

Sure she is married to Bill Nye, but does she have a "Bill Nye: The Science Guy Staff" T-shirt that glows in the dark?

my life rules.

really?? that is too funny...

You better check with Blair Tindall and see if she really is married to Bill Nye...

Bill and Blair didn't have a legal wedding and split seven weeks after the ceremony. No they are not married - Blair spoke about it on the David Lawrence Radio show just recently in LA

Apparently, she's a real nut job too.

No, you're wrong. She's quite sane. Just incredibly taken-advantage-of in every way possible, and very decent about it.

Most women who'd been ardently pursued, then dumped, her formal wedding cancelled, and left financially liable for a home she didn't own and never lived in -- might have been vitriolic, or spilled the beans, on a radio interview still available on the Internet. But she wasn't, and she didn't.

So chill and take a deep breath, nephew dear.

This is not from the nephew, dear.

She didn't behave so well afterall if you knew the whole story.

She wasn't alone that night you refer to, and I do know the story. This is a really fine woman who stuck by her man trial after tribulation, who loved him deepl, and finally got angry for just one isolated hour, after months of humiliation, degradation, and financial violation. What she saw that night changed her forever; this man put her health and future at great risk. I saw what this man wrote about her, and about himself -- it's horrifying. She deserves to take legal action, but she is not going that route.

A millionaire takes takes advantage of a struggling artist so he can overcome a crappy credit rating to use a good one she's cultivated all her life to get a mortgage to buy a house. Convinces her he "loves her" when his motivation is purely for personal gain. Very nice. Is she really supposed to just suck it up? One blowup is far less than what he deserves. Now her credit rating is destroyed because of him, and she never even lived in the house she chose for their marriage.

And then she let it go and she moved on. By the way, he's the one who pursued her. He wouldn't tak e no for an answer and then when he got what he wanted he stomped on her like an worn toy

Why don't you watch the video of their wedding. He sure looked happy, doesn't he? he's a very good actor.

If even half of that is true, Bill Nye is a complete A-hole. She should write a book about him.

I see him lindy hopping all the time in Pasadena. Kinda sad.

Sorry that I write in this old topic, but I really love music by Yo Yo Ma !
