posted by catherine / January 29, 2006 / i panty-blogged, and apparently it's an unstoppable journey downwards after you've done that. but i need your help, dear readers (surprise surprise - can i ever make up my mind about something without consulting the blog?). i know it's january, but dammit, it's 55 degrees out, and i've been running past the lakefront beaches, and thus i am inspired to get a new bathing suit. plus i need some sweet shopping relief after all the work i've put into python today. lordy. but i can't decide between two, and tommy is no help. so if you don't mind, cast a vote:
grazie.

Two.
Dos.
Both are good, but yes, I'd say #2.
It's no surprise that these young whippersnappers want to dress you in the skanky suit. I prefer the understated but sexy #1. It looks more comfortable, too.
i kind of do, too...it looks cuter. i do like #2 a lot, but white bathing suits, you never know.
It's no surprise that ogged, a sexual puritan, would both characterize the more attractive suit as "skanky" even though there doesn't appear to be any reason to think it's skankier than the other and denigrate the motives of those who merely want catherine to have the suit that she merits.
After all, would you set a diamond in tin?
Young whippersnapper, I have the time, but not the inclination to instruct you in the semiotics of bathing suits. I trust Catherine will make the right choice, no matter what we say.
boys, boys. if i eat pb&j sandwiches every day for lunch for the next two months, i might be able to afford both!
A blue and white striped suit can pose just as many problems as an all-white one, depending on the location of the white stripes. #1 is slightly padded, though, which should eliminate the transparency problems posed by the white. I've never worn a padded top, though, and wonder how long it would retain moisture (if you plan on actually swimming in this suit instead of just sunbathing) and, if the padding didn't dry out quickly, that could get uncomfortably cold.
Some practical thoughts to throw in with the boys' aesthetic evaluations.
the description says quick-drying, though - i saw the suit in person too and i've had a top like that before and it didn't pose too much of a problem.
You know what? Ben is right, I really want you to buy one of these.
Culotte swimmers are antirevolutionary!
I choose #2, become #1 does not support my browser.

ogged, those are so hott. i'm disappointed there don't seem to be men's versions, though.
i think it should also be kept in mind that a) i don't slightly resemble the victoria's secret chick and b) never will i be caught dead posing like that in a bathing suit.
I don't know what your experience with VS in general is, but my wife has found that, underwear aside, most of VS's clothing has been of rather low quality.
You can't beat the Gap.
They's both cute, though.
i like the second one.
Catherine your hair looks weird in that second picture but anyway I think both those suits make you look fat
The consensus among my girlfriends and I is that VS bathing suits fit really weird and tend to be unflattering, so I'd go with 1. And also I think it's cuter than 2.
