i know, i've preached the love for veronica mars one too many times on this here blog. but i just can't help it. even if you don't think you'll like it, you will. guaranteed. unless you have no eyes. i wanted to share this brief example with you of how VM can transform a non-VM lover into a slave for kristen bell. exhibit a: my brother. doesn't watch much tv (though is obsessed with nip/tuck, one of the few shows he does watch). never got into buffy the vampire slayer. not generally interested in chick-centered shows. but this is how we spent christmas afternoon.
sister and i: please, can we start watching the veronica mars dvd we got for xmas, pleeeeeease? PLEASE!
brother: christ. ok.
watch watch watch the first episode.
brother: gets up, stretches, says, well, i know what i'm doing for the next 18 hours.
(note to slow: he meant he was going to watch VM. AND HE DID. at this rate, he and my sister must be done with the first season by now.)
additionally, yesterday my sister let slip a disturbing spoiler she read on the internets for VM. i have no idea if it is true or not, but i think, based on other clues i've read elsewhere, that it may be. i'll post behind the cut; tell me what you think. and by you i mean kathryn, because she is the only other blogger i know who reaches my level of VM obsession.
duncan dies.
gotta be wrong, right? i mean, i'm not the biggest donut fan, but that would be a serious, serious thing to do.

I mean, look at Lost! Boone died, and then... oh, wait. Everyone's doing it. Do you really think Rob Thomas would follow JJ Abrams like that though? Brother/Sister death? I just don't.
I think it's a red herring meant to throw us off the scent of Logan's corpse. Damn. I don't want Logan to die, either. Can't nobodies like Meg just keep biting it?
Ooooh..... I've got to think about this for a bit.
By the way, I had a date the other night. We were talking about TV and the guy said, "oh, I watch this show, Veronica Mars? Do you know it?"
My jaw hit the table. We love him.
i'm not sure. i REALLY don't like it, but it might make sense in a twisted way. i mean, what use will VM have for duncan when they break up (and it's only a matter of time before they do?) - he was there in the first season primarily because of the kane family and their involvement with the Big Mystery. once the plotline with meg's baby is cleared up, i'm not sure where they'd go with the character. (but this is dependent on my feeling that the baby is not really duncan's.)

I agree; Duncan bothers me. He never does anything interesting, not even with freaking Charisma Carpenter. I won't miss him, but something about "Duncan dies" doesn't make sense to me.
I'd like to see Felix die, though.
didn't felix already die? i thought he was the one who was stabbed, maybe. do you mean weevil?
I mean Weevil's evil sidekick this season, the shifty-eyed one you just know killed Felix. I forgot his name, crap. Those PCHers all look alike to me. :)

At first I was thinking, "No way. Duncan's a lead." But he's so peripheral and uninteresting this year... I just don't know.
I think they need him for at least a while to fight Meg's parents about the baby (I believe it's his, btw) but he has nothing to do with the bus crash or the PCHers, so...
The way he's written/portrayed right now, he's either incredibly interesting and there will be a huge reveal explaining his behavior, or he just sucks.
I think Duncan's l4m3rz but agree that they're probably planning a big reveal for him. But I also suspect that he's a bad actor, so I sort of want him to die.
I also don't like VM hitched to him. Maybe there's no one else around in Neptune for her . . . I see her with an older man.
RIP Deputy Leo, older love interest for VM.

i agree with matt - duncan is just so boring, that, after they clear up the meg storyline/baby, i can't possibly see what they would have to do with him and his family. maybe he won't be killed off, but i could see them moving away or something along those lines.
unless he is a psychopath and DID have something to do with the bus crash!
