You're Virginia!
Part of the old school, you like both historical sites and crazy
amusement parks. You like saying the word Commonwealth but couldn't really explain the
concept or how it applies to your life. You like five-sided shapes, five-cent pieces,
and possibly anything else having to do with the number five. Every now and then, you
discard chaff from yourself that you just don't feel you need. And since you've been
wondering... yes, there is a Santa Claus.
Take the State Quiz
at the Blue Pyramid.
if tommy, descended straight from general lee himself, takes this quiz and doesn't get virginia, robert e. is going to be rolling over in his grave.

Wait, seriously? That's awesome.
i can never remember if it's straight from, but if not that, it's pretty close.
I was Oregon, a place I have never yet been. My attempt to get to my current state of residence, Texas, got me to the state of Denial instead. Perhaps I give Texas too little credit.
I'm not a direct descendant. I think it goes in a straight line up to REL's father (via a brother). I plan to ignore all of this stuff until I'm an old, crotchety man who's suddenly and inexplicably fascinated by geneology.
also: I got New York. If I changed my last two answers I got VA -- but one of them was "is something cooler if it's new?" Given my love of the future, I think I can't in good conscience change that (here it comes!).
Considering my direct ancestor died with Armistead's 14th Virginia at Tom's great-great-great-times-X uncle's ill-fated Gettysburg campaign, it's a damn good thing my forebear managed to reproduce before going off to war. Otherwise, I might be seriously upset at Tom.
Catherine! I am Guam! And I'm not distantly related to any Confederates. I feel so alone.

Oh, and I got the Panama Canal. Odd.
This makes a word of game
