the one good thing about this?
getting to wear this (purchased over the summer in florence. in fact, i pretty much based my entire decision to move to chicago on the fact that i own this hat):
i am fully aware of the ridiculosity, but am also fully aware that it feels like i'm wearing an awesome, warm, baby panda on my head.
(when in reality is really just a baby rabbit and cow)

Yeah, I'm with you. It's about as cold in Chicago today as it ever gets in DC (minus one or two freak weeks, usually in Jan/Feb).
I went to the North Face store in the Hancock building today to get a proper winter jacket. For whatever reason, the place was filled with Mormon missionaries. Weird.
i guess even mormons get cold.

That would be why my father moved to Florida many, many moons ago. So he wouldn't have to wear ridiculous hats anymore. Although, Catherine, you make that hat look good.

I really, really wanted to buy a similar hat last week, except that it looked like it swallowed my head whole when I put it on. Wear it proudly, Catherine. It's a cool hat.
