what a beautiful place

posted by catherine / September 25, 2005 / i haven't watched the o.c. this season (i know, what the hell is wrong with me?) but they're still going strong on their music selections, at least. stereogum has matt pond pa's cover of neutral milk hotel's "in the aeroplane over the sea." in the aeroplane over the sea is one of those albums i never recommend to anyone solely because i assume everybody must already have it, but if you don't, get on it. it's one of the most heartbreakingly gorgeous works of music out there. also, it contains probably the only song about anne frank and world war II that will make you want to dance your ass off. anyway, matt pond pa's cover captures the sound nicely.

I thought that cover was pretty bad, actually--too similar to the original and not better, either. :(
In other news, any idea why zunta never remembers my info? I've got cookies on and everything (and my info is stored on other sites).
I'm afraid I'm with Jake. I actually remember thinking "their music director is slipping" when I watched the last episode of the OC. But maybe I was just in a bad mood.
Jake: no idea on the cookie thing. I'll try to look into it.
oh well, i liked the slowed down place.
cookies for me have never ever worked on zunta. i have to retype my name in every time.
hmm. I've never used them. Could you try using cookies when accessing the site via www.unrequitednarcissism.com? I've got a feeling movable type thinks that's the site's address, and is setting cookies for the wrong domain.
