95% of the people i've talked with, including some instructors, lovely though they are (really, everyone comes off as genuine and nice and very intelligent), seem to look on blogs with a) derision b) confusion c) fear or d) a mix of all three.
also, i am one of three new media students.

well, it might mean a little more work or less support, but think of it as an opportunity. it should be that much easier to dazzle your teachers and peers with strange new ideas like this mysterious "aresses"
Now you understand where I was coming from when I moved to D.C. and was like, um, oh yeah, blogs are what exactly? But I have been successfully converted to the dark side, and you guys have had no small part in that, so I'm confident you'll have the entire Medill school with you in no time!
i think that's a good thing that you're on the ground floor -- there's plenty of pioneering work to be done!
