holy crap. i just signed up for ohmyrockness chicago, an email listing of indie rock shows happening in chitown. and i love you d.c., and i'll miss you, but lordy, chicago gets a lot of bands. i feel my already-puny student loans slipping away towards tickets upon tickets...
unrelated, but i've been streaming "gimme fiction" all day, after having not listened to it in ages, and it's still true: spoon is so best, and i love me some britt daniel.

i think i've been listening to gimme fiction an average of once a day since i bought it two months ago. which only aggravates me more than i can't find my girls can tell album anywhere.
By the way, Britt Daniel himself shoots down this theory in a solo live set he did for Austin's local NPR station, KUT. here and go to about the 7:30 mark and within a minute he'll have explained why "Beast..." is the first track.
(By the way, this can work with other albums -- I accidentally burned my Neptunes album in reverse order and liked it better that way.)
