I usually try to keep my mouth shut about abortion issues, but this post over at Kevin Drum's place is horrifying enough that I feel compelled to link to it.

that's insane, and yet - not surprising in the least, for some sad reason.
that whole deal is fucked up -- an apparently took place a mere 2 hours to the east of me. that said, the article doesn't say why the teenager didn't seek an abortion and no other background on that specific case is given, so drum's link between the law and her actions is making some assumptions.
Sounds like an equal protection case that ought to be appealed.
