posted by catherine / March 16, 2005 / i'm thinking about going to this panel, even though there have already been approximately 3200 panels exactly like it, with exactly the same participants saying exactly the same things. but, you know, i am going to study new media, so i figure i should attend at least one of these things before i head off to school. anybody interested? it's a chance to heckle the increasingly-hated wonkette and the man of a thousand opinions.
i also find it funny that they have invited several prominent bloggers to liveblog the event. how much more annoyingly meta can you get?

I just registered. Although I think the live blogging thing is retarded.
Seminars and panel discussions =! real time interest. Just go to the freaking panel!
I didn't see a price mentioned on the Brookings site. Is there a charge for it?
i'm pretty sure it's free - at least, it better be, because i registered online this morning without having to pay.
The panel I saw Sully speak on was totally hilarious. It was on gay marriage, moderated by Grover "Drown the Baby Before Throwing It Out With the Bathwater!" Norquist, and featured a former House Rep from Georgia and a bunch of other conservatypes. They were all like, "Statistics show that the family will be extinct if gays marry!" and he kept saying things like "But what about truth, beauty, and above all, love!" So, you know, too bad you're not seeing that one.
