posted by tom / December 28, 2004 / Sorry to spoil the surprise, but I've been working on a site redesign, and it's almost done. However, we've hit a snag: Catherine. That's right, my crazy girlfriend doesn't like part of the design I put together -- specifically, the logo. We've decided to do the fair thing and let you guys settle it.
So I present logo 1:

And logo 2:

Please let us know in comments which you prefer. We're really just concerned with the fonts -- don't worry about the colors. The design is intended to be flexible, letting me drop new color schemes and backgrounds into the design whenever I get around to it. You'll only have to suffer with the light blue for a couple of months, probably.

honestly, I don't like either...but between the two, I like logo 1
I think that I like the second better, but perhaps that's my childish nature. It's just cuter.
i am also starting to think they are both ugly. however, mine is still the least ugly of the two.
I definitely like the first one better. The second one is way too close to naming your site SK8TR GRL.
That's true but then the other one reminds me of a heading on one of those three paneled science project boards or a lesser known news paper trying to prove something
I like this one...

I like #1; it looks like a Roman temple so there's a funny contrast with the content. Which is not like a Roman temple.
Scott: Is the #2 design tres SK8R GRL—or Skate or Die?
I rest my case.
#1 is hard to read but #2 reminds me of gang graffiti and teenage delinquency. #1 is definitely more elegant and would be my choice of the two. But I agree with Jeff that the original is better.
Add a picture of Tom and Catherine kneeling over the Potomac staring into their reflections...accompanied by Logo One.:-)
I'm with Jeff. If it ain't broke...
Will your new site have any Flash media? Because that's the coolest.
I like the one Catherine wants....

It will not. However, it will probably break some browsers. So there's that to look forward to.
I like the one Catherine wants....
You are a very wise man
Isn't No. 2 a font Midwestern local news stations often use on family segments called "Talking to Teens," etc.? Very early 1990s, I like it.
Great job h h / /
