Road Rage by Great Big Sea(Live)
Live album of the band from New Foundland...just skip the first song, all the rest are awesome. This is a great introduction to the band if you've never heard them before.

Something Beautiful by Great Big Sea
This is their latest album.

Kale Kalore by Vera Bila and Kale
OK, this is some bad ass gypsy music that is good for the soul.

And then there's this...which everyone should own.
Roots by The Gipsy Kings

I'm sure the last two albums aren't necessarily the kind of music you had in mind...but thought I'd throw the titles out there anyway. Peace. --scott

You can't go wrong with Stereolab. Unfortunately, that's the newest band I know, and they've been around since the early 90s. In terms of music, I've gotten off the loop, sold the car, built a shack in the country, and am living without electricity at this point.

Wait, something's coming. Interpol. The Shins. Oops, all out.

GBS is pretty cool, but I don't know if that's Catherine's thing :)

heh. what's my thing then?

this has nothing to do with music, but i wondered if you ever saw pics of suzy's wedding. are there any online?

i did just buy my first cd in like 5 years, because i'm really pathetic when it comes to music. i bought modest mouse's good news for people who love bad news, and i like it alright.

I like TV on the Radio. If you want to try some hip-hop the Brits are very friendly: The Streets or Dizzee Rascal. Madvillain is sweet if that's your thing, but huh I so doubt that

I think Guster came out with a live CD or something. Keane is pretty good (think slow Coldplay)

i think maybe there were some shutterfly shots from julie or naomi or someone, but you should ask them.

This is probably late, but John Vanderslice's latest CD is amazing. I would also highly recommend The streets as per my blog. I haven't listened to the whole Fiery Furnaces album yet, but it sounds like it could be good.

Save your cash and take a pass on The Killers... the album turned out amazingly bland, save for one or two good tracks, and the live show is suitably lifeless. Can't go wrong with Sam Bisbee! Or IRM's new one. If you had been nicer to me this year, I'd have already sent you it. But you weren't. So I didn't.
