don't forget

ted leo and the evens at fort reno tonight, 7:15. a map is here, and i believe it's very close to the tenleytown metro stop. it's free, too, so you've got no excuse! alcohol is not permitted, but if you want to grab a drink with me beforehand, either in dupont or near fort reno, let me know, as i'll have some time to kill before the show.

MORE DIRECTIONS
(from Tommy, who is bad at this sort of thing)

You should take these with a grain of salt, but coming from Arlington you should cross chain bridge, take an immediate right, then a left at the first light. Keep going straight until you reach a stop sign at a T intersection. Go right. There'll be a couple of godawful traffic circles that you should attempt to go straight through. You should be on Nebraska Ave. From the map Catherine linked to, it looks like Chesapeake St NW is the left to take from here.

NOT SO! Well, you can, but on-street parking will probably be full. Just keep going for a little bit more; by little bit I mean a couple hundred yards at most. Look for a left into a small lane that runs next to a brick building -- I think it belongs to AU. There's almost always plenty of legal parking here, and you can walk straight onto the field.

if anyone would like to ride with Charles and me, we'll be leaving sometime in the neighborhood of 6:30-6:45.

Sounds like fun, but it looks like they are predicting thunderstorms (as well as on Beer Day).

I can be convinced....are you going straight there from work?

Posted by: Naomi on July 1, 2004 09:51 AM

really? Weather.com shows "partly cloudy" for both dates for me...

Posted by: tom on July 1, 2004 09:51 AM

scattered showers according to Fox 5 news...meaning showers can happen in the next county over, but not ours...or vice versa

I want to meet up with you guys before I head to the show. I don't have a cell phone, so I'm not easily traceable, like ninja.

naomi - yes i'm going straight from work, with the possibility of some alcohol in between somewhere.

kriston - speaking of alcohol, maybe we (and whoever) can meet for a drink beforehand and then go in and meet tommy and whoever else is coming from the wilds of the suburbs.

and teresa - i'm definitely bringing an umbrella. ted leo apparently has a history of being rained out.

Fox 5? Well, there's your problem. They're just "sexing up" the weather report to make it more sensational. This is yellow meteorology of the worst sort!

Also: let me know where you guys go to get drinks. Last time I wandered through the neighborhoods near fort reno I couldn't find much besides a whole foods, but I probably just went in the wrong direction.

Hmm, I'll find us an appropriate bar. If memory serves we'd be within spitting distance of Guapo's and their ostensible margaritas.

Posted by: Kriston on July 1, 2004 11:30 AM

margaritas....yeah, that's enough convincing.
