via naomi i see the live on penn concert schedule is up. good news: the old 97s and fountains of wayne are playing! bad news: they're opening for eve 6 and they might be giants, respectively. spectacularly unfair.
i also see antigone rising is playing (opening for cowboy mouth) , which might ring a bell with a few people.
unrelated: i'm going to have four unused days of vacation by august (my one-year anniversary at this job). any good suggestions on where they should be spent?

hey! don't you start in on TMBG!
I'll even go so far as to say they're now good by objective standards, not just geek criteria (at least since John Henry). Birdhouse In Your Soul would be one of the all-time rock anthems if it had been performed by someone other than two dorks with keyboards.

Like Tommy I am also objectively pro-TMBG, and what with both of us being hott not nerdy I think we've put the lie to those rumors about the Giants' fan following.

I will also add my non-geeky (yeah right) vote to support TMBG. Although i haven't kept up with them, they represent good fun music. Along with Violent Femmes, one of the best bands to scream along with when you are the only one in your car.
Cool. Seems like you all are up for a few of these. We should check out the after party at AIR one of those nights too. (I am actually indifferent to TMBG)
