photos of a neighborhood yard sale in arlington and of susan's birthday. behind the cut tag.
friday evening, tommy and i headed out to dc9 to celebrate the glorious birth of susan! we met up with several of susan and kriston's friends there, and proceeded to drink beer, dance to the darkness, and eat chili half-smokes.

susan had received a digital camera for her birthday from her parents, and was newly obsessed with taking pictures, and since i'm always obsessed with taking pictures, we got many pictures of us taking pictures of each other and generally mugging for the camera just so we could be like, "ooh! let me see what we look like."

erik, susan, and susan's friend james (or was his name jeff? i'm terrible. i've forgotten)

i'm making a grotesquely sad face for some reason that i cannot recall. i think i was sad because i was sure that the self-portrait wouldn't turn out, when, unfortunately for me, it did in fact turn out.

we are so hardcore.
that is such an incredibly unflattering photo of me. yet i still post it. see how devoted i am to giving you the good, the bad and the ugly?

then, to satisfy our drunk-food needs, we headed to the always-delicious ben's chili bowl for some chili half-smokes and an ENORMOUS pile of chili cheese fries.

then tommy and i started our long, arduous journey home to arlington via metro.

see? out till 2am. we live a rockstar style life. yes indeed.
saturday morning, tommy and i dropped by a neighborhood-wide yard sale happening in arlington. it was warm, sunny, and the sale was filled with children and bright trinkets (though sadly the children weren't for sale), and it's at times like these that i think: the suburbs are okay.

i was like, simultaneously trying to take a picture of the cute dog and the cute kid without letting the owners/parents realize what i was doing so i didn't seem like some pedophile/dogophile freak, but the picture didn't really turn out due to my trepidation.

ahh yes. who could resist classic videos like "mail to the chief" and "the love letter"?

Chili cheese fries at 1:00am. Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em. Cute pics. --s
That was my first visit to Ben's, and I'm still confused. How can chili that bad create a chili dog that good?
What's that big yellow square those old people are selling? Is that art?
