Word on the street is: barbeque this Saturday. Details are sketchy, but my sources indicate kabobs. Be advised.
UPDATE: We have a tentative start time. 5pm. See you all then.

Is this THE Barbeque? As in Becca and Jamie's lifelong dream come true? Or is this just another in a long string of quiet, backyard barbeques where DC bloggers unite and share stories of the perils they have faced whilst entering hypertext? Because I really want to be at the big barbeque, but I must say that Saturday isn't the best day for me, seeing as the biggest party of med school is Friday night. So could we possibly have another barbeque either of the following two weekends? Allie says hi by the way and would like you to know that she has spent the past week reading every entry on your blog when she should have been studying. She thinks you two have a lot in common. You both like soup...and talking and not talking...
scott i don't think this is like, THE BBQ to end all bbqs, as tommy's had like three now -- it is just one in a series of evenings that consist of beer+meat. i think tommy's goal is to have bbqs as often as possible, so there will be plenty in the future.
anyway scott you MUST come if you can drag yourself up from cville....not to speak for tommy, but i know he's going down to cville sunday morning for his sister's graduation, so if for some reason you needed a ride down, he could maybe take you. also, the bbq probably won't start until eveningish, and hopefully at that point you would be well over your hangover.
and how could you not want to hang out at a place that looks like this?
I'll try and stop by for a little while in the afternoon, but I've got plans for the evening that most people probably aren't interested in. Let's just say we had fried cicadas last night and they weren't bad. Does anyone know a good place to get rhubarb?
I wasn't aware there was a lifelong dream quest. That's kind of a lot of pressure.
I have to drive down to Charlottesville to see my sister graduate on Sunday, so I can't get *too* stinking drunk. And of course there is the strong possibility of cicada-related fatalities. So overall, I would say this barbeque is probably not the one to end all barbeques. But it should still be a lot of fun, and you should come if you can make it.
Speaking of which, if you're coming dropping me an email, IM, or leaving a comment here would be helpful so I know how much food & booze to acquire.
Hey tommy, i'll probably be able to make this one (from upstairs) so if you could pick me up a cold six of tall boys and a ribeye that would be tremendous.
MMMM. hey would it be possible to get susan to make a margarita or two? we can provide some tequila...i've heard lots about them. also, i still have her sangria pitcher from like 3 years ago (okay, march).

Could you pick me up some wintergreen ice milk?
sorry, but around these parts we believe that all variants except unflavored are sinful
I heard through the grapevine that a batch of Texas chili might be in the makings...

You know I love to spread the Holy Gospel of Margarita, from the Book of Austin. Consider it covered.
Well Hal-leh-looo. Let there be limes!
