more random photos! of the weekend. included: such wonders as tommy's espresso maker, sandwiches, and pictures from naomi's birthday. woot.

first things first at tommy's house on the weekend: we all load up on espresso. i know. i'm yuppie. i bought him this espresso maker from an italian equivalent of walmart when we were living together in milan, but i didn't really think about the voltage conversion for the states, etc. so turns out he needed a massive converter, which you can see there to the left, which is the size of a horse, cost like $70 and had to be shipped from india.

bzzzzzzz. making espresso is fun.

voila!

then we made some sandwiches. we got the mozzarella from trader joe's, which i think is the only place in the greater d.c. area where it doesn't cost you $34 and doesn't taste like a big ball of rubber.

and tommy's backyard, all pretty in the springtime.
later on that day, i went a little flower crazy. all the azalea bushes in our yard are blooming, and they are beautiful and hypnotically fluorescent.

flowers

are

pretty!
now, we move on to naomi's birthday. we went to a bar called tom tom in adams morgan, where we managed to comandeer a few couches and proceeded to get, how do you say, wasted.

the birthday girl herself, and her boyfriend brian. the big two-four. yes. it's scary, as i found out in january when my little sister, on my birthday, turned to me with an air of shock and said, "oh my god, i just realized you're totally in your mid-twenties." umm, hello, i would like to delay reality for a little longer, please.

naomi and me, before we were well on our way to un-sobriety.

we grabbed some couches in front of a tv and an old, old, old-school nintendo, and na and julie proceeded to play either tetris or that dr. mario pill game. i cannot remember. i had started on the deadliest of drinks at that point...

the wild long island iced tea! which i'm holding righ there while naomi and jen look on, unaware of the danger being posed. it is DEADLY. but i had the situation under control.

however, i'm not so sure about julie.

and signore tomaso and myself. we headed home around 2, i somehow inhaled a massive bowl of pasta, and we ended up sleeping till after 2pm. ridiculous.

the purple flower picture = excellent.
and that is most definitely dr. mario. i could spot it in anywhere. my freshman year of college was devoted to that game (tetris was junior year). i can't believe they have that in a bar on adams morgan -- and KRISTON DIDN'T TAKE ME!!!
outrage!!
thanks! inspired, naturally, by your awesome flower pics.

i didnt think he was real
you know
i always thought he was just in a video game
