bitter much?

Many months ago I received an email from a male blogger who told me that if I want people to recognize my writing and if I wanted to make a name for myself, I should concentrate on my serious writing and stop writing about topics such as boobs and sex.

So now this chick comes along and she writes a couple of half-witty paragraphs every day, most of them dealing with John Kerry's sexual organ and anal sex, and she's the hottest thing on the internet. Men love her, women worship her and people quote her like she's the queen of all that is popular. Including the person who originally wrote me chastising me for my sex talk.

Oh yea, I heard she's hot. Quite a few of the upper echelon male bloggers seem quite smitten with her. In fact, they are fawning all over her. And now she is considered to be on the A list of A listers, if there were such a thing.

I don't get it. I just don't get it.

Oh wait, I do. Guys will give you all the props you want as long as you are hot and write about sex. But if you aren't hot, or if you don't have a cute little image on your site depciting how adorably cute you are, then just give it up.

errm...

sounds like tommy's a-hosting a bbq this saturday afternoon. get off your butts and come drink beer and roast meat with us. we might even play another round of apples to apples (come to think of it, i should really write a huge post on the fantasticness of that game). i'll be out in full photog mode, seeing as i just received my lovely new baby camera in the mail yesterday. i've already taken several useless pictures, like of the cinema n' drafthouse (where i saw master and commander last night), of kriston and tommy ordering chili, and of like, my finger. don't worry, voyeurs. i'll post them later on.

and OOH. OOH. wilco is playing the 9:30 club on june 9th. we should do something about that.
