i really want to do something like this.

maybe not that extensive, but perhaps for 3-6 months, just go wherever, and blog about it! it would be so fun! i think i'm a little too young to be already burned out by my job and taking a 'sabbatical', but i'm willing to consider it.

of course, though, i'd have to have a partner in crime. one thing i've learned in the past year or two is that traveling by yourself--well, it really sucks. especially if you're not the type who wants to hang out at wild hostels and smoke pot with some hairy guy from finland for company. i know, it sounds fun, but it's just not my thing.

but it's hit or miss who you travel with. i've found that traveling with someone can make you really despise them, or make them your best friend. that one girl i wrote about a while back -- we figured out that she wasn't exactly our type of travel companion after we took our first group trip together, to the riviera, where she declared she was "totally going to faint" if she didn't get something to eat, two minutes after we got off the train. i need me some hardier people than that.
