try this shiznit:

it wasn't the clintons who have been masterminding the revelation about the kerry affair.

it was THE KERRY TEAM.

eh? see, they figure it's going to come out anyway, so better to get it out now than closer to the general election. they think that kerry has enough momentum at this point that it won't make a huge difference, and perhaps the news coming out about novak/plame and the continuing bush awol story will diffuse the situation. and if they leak it themselves, they know exactly when the story will hit, and they will be completely prepared to respond to it.

....

okay, i don't know. whatever. i'm a bad conspiracy theorist.

i think mr. scott beach should take a shot at this.

actually, i think scott, jillyn and i should take to filming our own short films, a la brendon, melissa and jason from home movies. they could be pretty brilliant, i think. or just filming our sessions of BOMB. thought-provoking.

i think if i could be paid to simply read news websites and blogs, post on my blog, and have debates in comments all the day long, i would be happy.

for the record: if you're against gay marriage for whatever reason, i don't think listing gay people you have known or interacted with really helps make your case. that's like, oh i'm not racist, i worked with this black guy once! or, i sympathize with the homeless, i used to volunteer at a soup kitchen!

this is about more than specific cases. this is about equality for every single person in this country. just because you oppose gay marriage and happen to also work with a gay person doesn't prove that your stance is right or that you're open-minded and have found the other side's reasoning lacking. this rises above one gay man or one gay woman; this is about the capacity of this country to believe that every one of its citizens has the right to be free, happy and equal. that's it. and i will kick you in the face if you pull that "i know a gay person" crap on me.
