wow. i just ate thai food so hot that my lips like, melted off. ow. it's a weird sensation, your sinuses and mouth almost exploding with heat while you're walking through the streets of dupont circle, freezing your ass off. not pleasant.

alongside the whole no-lips issue, today has been altogether crappy. not friday-joy-like at all. the metro was delayed well over an hour, and i had to stand the whole time. turns out standing is hard. especially when you're surrounded by germ-filled time bombs of people in a metal death tube under the potomac. the only thing that kept me from collapsing onto the lap of the nearest unsuspecting passenger was the wrens' "the meadowlands" on my ipod. it is so, so hard to not sing along to that album. love it!

then once i did get into work, it sucked. predictably. whatever. i just want to go home a bit early this evening, perhaps buy a new travel guide to italy at the borders on L street, and do something fun tonight. man. i am cranky. i suspect it has something to do with my crushing defeat in mario party last night. i bet a new pair of pumas or a purse would raise my mood considerably, however. maybe some new dangly earrings.

anyway! trivia night might be on for monday night at fado's in the city. it starts at 8. email me if you'd like to go.

and fyi: italy is looking like april 28-may 8. not positive, but probable.
