in case i needed to actually convince you to come to italy with me...a picture is worth a thousand words, right?

the famosa ponte vecchio in florence.

vespas in florence. WE COULD RENT ONE!

best city ever. seriously. you will fall in love when you have the first sip of your cappucino in the piazza popolo. and buy your first leather purse in the mercato di san lorenzo...mmm...leather purses..

two of my adorable, lovely kids from the american school of milan (last halloween as cinderella and the devil in a blue dress). they will love and huge you immediately. florencia and sofia. such angels.

who can resist italian bare-chested leather-vested firethrowers??

the view of the alps from my apartment. on a pollution-free day, that is.

this could happen to you, too!

i probably wouldn't hit up cinque terre this time around, but, you know, just knowing it's a few hours away...

italian women just walk around like this all the time! italian men too, come to think of it. by the way, that somehow just reminded me of something else good about italy: THE SHOPPING IS FANTASTIC. i will probably bring a duffel bag stuffed inside my original suitcase to bring home everything i buy :)

wine wine wine wine wine wine drunk.

la toscana. i might just spend the entire time there. hmm.

I Can't deside if I should love you or dislike you ("hate" is much too strong a word). Why?, you might ask...well it's like this. I am heading to Sorrento, Capri and Ischia in early May(I know! so far you are thinking...AND your point??) Well, I "asked Jeeves" how to get from Sorrento to Ischia (it seemed like such a simple request)and he seemed to think your "Blog" would know.

Much more to the point...I was hoping to accomplish so much this evening...but I have now been captivated by your blog for several hours. It's like Bridget Jones Diary meets Three Coins in the "twisted" fountain! You are killing me! :)

So, Hey...if you have any advice on how to get from Sorrento to Ischia...let me know. AND whatever you do, please don't stop your blog! I now know what I am going to read during my boring meetings at the office!

Ciao, Lisa

thank you so much for the nice comment! i'm glad you enjoyed my wacky italian adventures.

you'll love sorrento and ischia...a great hotel i stayed in was sorrento was www.ilnido.it (i think that's the correct url - in any case it's called il nido). it's not directly in the town - it's kind of up in the hills - but they run a van service every hour and it was cheap, with beautiful views and a big breakfast.

as for ischia to sorrento..i think we went from naples to ischia instead, but in any case, you can get pretty much anywhere to anywhere by ferries in that region. i found this:
http://www.gonomad.com/lodgings/0310/Sorrento.asp

at the bottom somewhere it mentions a ferry between ischia and sorrento.

good luck with your trip! you'll have a great time.
