something non political for once: what i've done since new years eve! rife with drama, dialogue and drugs. just kidding.

anyway...

i am tired. oh so tired. i think i've gotten something like 12 hours of sleep in the past three nights, and the sad part is that i have no one to blame but myself. i mean, that doesn't mean i don't blame anyone by myself. when i don't sleep, i get way cranky, and basically lash out at everyone around me. so even if it's only my fault, that means it's basically tommy's fault. he gets the brunt. poor boy.

but it was lack of sleep for good reasons. first off, i have to file a report on the new years party at my house, which, i think, went swimmingly. about 40-50 people showed up, i'd guess, and the night was full of me topping off lots of champagne glasses and beer pong. at which i won. twice. with jeff. elbow! unless i played with anyone else, which is possible, i guess, cos i don't really remember. damn that punch. i have no pics myself, but some will be forthcoming from other sources.

anyway, i met loads of nice people that i hadn't known before, and had a good time talking to everyone i already did know. joy was compounded by finding out jason got engaged to corbin (so weird finding out your ex-boyfriend is engaged), and by having people like scott and jillyn, etc, there. i don't see them nearly enough. also, someone broke our bathroom sink. if anyone wants to go ahead and confess here in the blog, go ahead and do so. sink breaker! you're going to hell.

i had to go to work on friday, which was terrible, but at least the nighttime activities were fun, as i went out with jeff, charles and teresa to meet up with jillyn & co. at the angry inch in adams morgan. it was really fun, but packed, and we took a cab back to the boys' around 12:30, where i was plied with wine and this like, supertea that got me simultaneously tipsy and uber-caffienated so i raved against the death penalty for something like three hours. yup. also, jeff kept asking us to punch him in the face. what was up with that?

anyway, waking up hungover and having debated the death penalty until 4am -- well, turns out it's not so fun at 9am on a saturday morn. (also i will save you from my death penalty arguments in this entry. FOR NOW.) did lots of family stuff saturday, including a trip to buy a new cell phone cos i'm a dumbass and lost my last phone in a gutter or something. then all the extended family went to jordans, michael jordan's steakhouse in d.c. it was quite good, actually, and no thoughts of mad cow disease swam through my head as i devoured my tender steak. post-dinner, we took in the capital steps, a political satire group that sings songs about, well, politics.

by that point, i couldn't really take it anymore. lack of sleep, too much steak, listening to someone dressed up as joe lieberman sing to the tune of copa cobana..or something. it had been a long day. so i let myself indulge in my favorite activity of late - watching 5 episodes of the west wing season one dvd in a row. it's so fun. try it. sorry, everyone, but ww is surpassing buffy. I KNOW. who'd have thunk. but this season is superlative. when's season 2 coming out?

anyway i watched that until like 2am, unable to move my ass from the couch or my eyes from the screen. is anyone cooler than c.j. cregg? anyone? i didn't think so.

so basically i didn't sleep this weekend because various forms of entertainment kept me from my bed. not bad, but today has been terrible. staring at my computer at work, as it turns out, is not a form of entertainment. and it's raining. mondays really, really suck.
